Author’s Preface
There were many people in the bible that had to face enemies and deal with verbal or physical attacks. Today we all face the same issues. People will hurt and betray you, life will rob you, many will be disloyal to you and some will deceive you or let you down. Injustice will be done to you. While everything within you will want to retaliate or strike back, God encourages you to commit your cause to him and allow him to act on your behalf. The bible says, “Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.” Romans 12:19.
Though times and distractions and offences will come your way that will try to hinder you from seeking God’s face in prayer. During these times it’s so easy for you to want to avenge yourself. Don’t ever yield to that struggle or temptation it is a distraction from the enemy to rob you.
If you react to the situation it will only increase or make things worse, and draw you away from the purposes of God for your life. The best thing to do is to turn away from it all and draw nearer to God. If a little child is afraid of a monster or is hurt he or she does not fight back. Instead they run to their mum or dad, close their eyes to the fear and shrink into their bosom for safety.
God says in times of battle do this: “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.” Luke 12:11-12. God will rejoice over you with singing no matter how great the adversity that comes your way.
